Book Release Party: Save the Date

For everyone in Tokyo on May 2nd (Saturday) 2009, save the date. I will be releasing my new book “A Japanese-English Guide to Sex, Kink and Naughtiness“. This release party is part of an even bigger techno event produced by Carlos Gibbs of the Red Box Project. As always, Carlos has lined up some most excellent DJs, VJs and cultural creatives.

Gearing Up

I’m just about ready for the show on Saturday. This time I will try out some new stuff with the vocoder. The first time to use a vocoder in a live setting. Should be fun.

Quite a while back, mp3.com got bought out by Vivendi and Universal. All the artists’ music on that site was gone after that. Quite a tragedy considering the rich library of content that had been collected in such a short time.

Recently, I’ve been subscribing to various independent/alternative mp3/artist sites and I think its safe to say that a lot of independent Net labels have helped to sustain the collection and proliferation of music content that was once dominated by mp3.com.

Here are some cool Net labels I’ve come across:

Comfort Stand
Negative Sound Institute
OUIM
I/O Electronic Net Label

These are but a few of the great Net labels out there. It takes time to explore the diverse and various content, but that is part of the fun.
